Just two weeks after the Ufo Vertical Sprint in Bratislava the sprinters in our wonderful sport will get another chance to proof their abilities. Late afternoon on Friday September 13th the Pyramidenkogel Panorama Tower in Keutschach – the valley of four lakes – will host a Towerrunning Tour 120 event. Although it’s relative small height – the finish platform is 71 meters above ground – the mainly wooden tower located on top of a hill offers an overwhelming view of the surrounding lakes and mountains.
In the first edition of the race in 2018 international well recognized towerrunners Veronika Windisch and Tomas Celko were victorious. An uphill sprint of about 25 seconds followed by 441 steps added to a male winning time of just above 2 minutes. Prize money higher than typical 120 point races will be distributed to male and female winners as follows:
1st – 400€, 2nd – 300€, 3rd – 200€, 4th – 150€, 5th – 100€.
Race organizers and TWA are pleased to offer 12 travel packages comprising 100 Euro travel reimbursement, 1 night accommodation with breakfast and free race entry. Travel packages will be awarded to top ranked athletes (TWA June Ranking). Interested athletes can apply from Tuesday July 24 until Wednesday July 31, 2019, 10pm Central Europe Time on the TWA website or by emailing president@towerrunning.com and sport@towerrunning.com.
There will be about 10 additional smaller travel packages including travel reimbursement, 1 night accommodation with breakfast and free race entry available for international and national elite runners
Applying for these packages is possible by emailing the elite athlete manager of the event Rudolf Reitberger (rudolf.reitberger@liwest.at). All TWA registered athletes will receive free race entry.
Interesting fact: The Friday date gives the opportunity to take part in the Red Bull 400 race in Planica the following day
Planica is just a 50 minutes drive away from Keutschach
. Taking part in the German Towerrunning championship in Rottweil on Sunday seems possible too.
